Our Vice President has his way with words, doesn't he. But for all his bluntness they were true. We have traveled several more miles more down that road to serfdom. Biden spoke this immortal words introduction our wonderful President on the occasion of his signing his health care reform bill. The President did not look particularly pleased, having and understanding of microphones. The President rarely looks like a man who enjoys his role. His demeanor is short of outright malevolence but far from pleasant. He reminds me of someone who is pained by his own lack of ability and preparation, yet who resents others noticing.
His Health Care Reform bill will undoubtedly do many things. And since it is larger that the Mexico City phone book, we will have little idea what they are until they fall upon our shoulders. One can be sure that the language was crafted (if that's the word) in such a way that all the usual whores will make a lot of coin out of the rest of us for a long time to come.
I am confident of only one thing, The pain and confusion of his handiwork will precede any objective benefit felt by the majority of voters. So the stage is set for this to be a phyric victory, possibly costing him one or another house of Congress. If this happens to be the Senate, he can forget about placing just anyone he wants on that looming Supreme court vacancy. Then he will really look glumly!
But we started down this road a long time ago and we still have a ways to go before the Old Republic is finally expunged.
Chronicling the decline of the west and the emergence of all that stuff that floats to the top of dead systems.
