TAC SPIKES ANOTHER ONE

Back over at TAC I wrote a comment defending myself from a reader named "Reinhold" who accuses me of wishing to re-start the John Birch Society and failing to see that Marxism is not in the American tradition, etc.

The Editors have not posted my reply, although in this case I think out of inattention.  Here is my reply.

Reinhold, You should know that the John Birch Society still exists out there somewhere. I haven’t met a member since perhaps before you were born. (Apologies if you are an old toad in the wood like me.)

Look, it’s simple. The left has a past. It has a record. It doesn’t deserve your indulgence. Try this. Every time you you see someone shun the Marxist left, just substitute the term Nazi for for Socialist, Marxist, Sandinista, Khmer Rouge etc. See how it feels to speak up for the poor misunderstood Nazi’s. Then reflect on the fact that the Marxists killed, and dispossessed far more people than the Nazis ever did, and they are still around.

NOTE;  THIS WAS PUBLISHED A FEW DAYS LATER AND I'M CONTENT TO ATTRIBUTE THIS TO WORK LOAD.  THE ARTICLE IS NOW BELOW THE HORIZON OF THE FRONT PAGE SO I WON'T BELABOR THIS POINT EXCEPT TO SAY THAT IN FURTHER COMMENTS "REINHOLD" AND OTHER RESIDENT TROLLS RESORTED TO THE USUAL FUDGING EQUIVALENCE ARGUMENTS AND CONDEMNATIONS OF "CAPITALIST DEMOCRATIC" WARS OF AGGRESSION.
