Ordinarily the world ignores this blog. But the previous post in which I take exception to Mark Steyn's off color joke in Nathional Review unleashed the full wrath of his fan club. They find me to be a prudish, Muslim loving non-entity. All good fun and there were some intelligent comments from some who bothered to read beyond my lack of awe at their tin god. I wonder if these people read Steyn more carefully than they did me.
One interesting fact came to light. The repeated reference to lingerie in the text seems to result in ads for lingerie at the top of the page. This being the case, I'm asking anyone tempted to comment to insert the names "Rolls Royce," "Patek Phillipe," and "Johnny Walker Blue," into your comment. I really need the ad revenue.
Chronicling the decline of the west and the emergence of all that stuff that floats to the top of dead systems.

Dear Mr Meehan.
ReplyDeleteOn the way back from my Golfing weekend in Buckinghamshire, comfortably ensconced at 5.30pm in the back of the chauffeur driven Rolls-Royce which is my preferred mode of conveyance these days, I poured myself a relaxing glass of Johnny Walker Blue from the mini bar, revved up the laptop, and perused the entries on ‘Odysseus on the Rocks’ at my leisure. So engrossed did I become that by the time I had read everything it was, according to my Patek Phillipe, 8.35pm and I was almost arrived at my residency in Tunbridge Wells! Thank you for helping the time to fly in such an engrossing and instructive fashion.
All the best

Thanks much Guy, but it seems to have more to do with the headlines.
