A SENSIBLE ALTERNATIVE TO THE BENEDICT OPTION.

I stumbled upon this while reading Crisis Magazine.  It is a thoughtful alternative to Rod Dreher's Benedict Option humbug.

    According to Dreher's Twitter feed, his Benedict Option is the "umbrella" under which all other options are to be understood.

    Sort of like my thoughts being the umbrella under which yours and everyone else's thoughts are to be understood, right?

      I don't Tweet so I'm spared Dreher's tweeted deep thoughts. It's obvious that he doesn't write to engage with serious minds. All his tiresome obsessions are just vehicles of his self promotion, hobbyhorses for the edification of his silly fan club. No one in the social-theological world takes him seriously.

      As to the quote you mention, If he didn't self-proclaim his genius, his posse of the easily impressed might lose faith in him.
